Even though we had our ups and downs, these athletes never gave up.  Jason Wu led the way with an average of 5 over par over 7 rounds just missing out on a state birth. Max Fisher's highlight was an eagle in Prescott on a par 4 from 170 yards out for a 2. Izzy Duncan was the glue that held our team together hence her getting the Eagle Award.  Max Jameel Grew as a golfer and worked hard to get better each day. Karathik Srinivus was new to the game of golf and really improved over the season and was awarded most improved golfer. Looking forward to next year's golf team.

Boys volleyball team finished the season with a 12-4 record and a Central Region (7-1) Championship. There were many contributors that led to our success this season. With Region Defensive player of the year Copper Withrow and 1st All Region Team Liam Perez leading in kills. The offense was anchored by our 1st All Region Team setter Jordan Payan and 2nd All Region Team setter Carter Voss. Middle Blockers 2nd All Region Team Andrew Smith and Honorable Mention Andrew Turner did a great job protecting the middle. Honorable Mention Right Side players Gage Denwood and Jordan Scofield protected the right side with blocks and timely hits throughout the season. 1st All Region Team Bryce Tucker protected the back row with great passing and effort every match. Honorable Mention Noah Stulz contributed with his passing and serving in several matches. Our role players Duncan Burki, Ben Colbrunn, Ryan Appel and Alex RIvers added their skills to contribute to the region championship.

Horizon Honors’ Girls Beach Volleyball team was led this year by new coach Jen Lamoreaux, along with volunteer assistant coach Amanda Leary. Despite a very tough schedule, the team battled hard for some important wins and qualified for State for the first time since 2018!  Our team came up just short in Round 1, losing 2-3 against the fourth-seed team. In addition to team competition, our top pair (Allyssa Gauer and Aubrey Harbertson) qualified for the Pairs State Championship and ADVANCED for the first time in school history! Six of our players were also recognized with AIA All-Section awards. It was great to see the mentorship and support between teammates throughout the season; with those values in mind, we ended with a fun “Queen of the Beach” tournament and celebration.  Thank you to the players, parents, and fans for a great season!
