Today we traveled to Assisi where we enjoyed a homemade pasta lunch, with a pasta-making demonstration, in the beautiful countryside.  Then we went on to tour the magnificent Basilica of St. Francis.  After exploring Assisi we drove on to Tuscany to Florence, which we will explore tomorrow.

October 9:
We had a great day today in Rome.  It started with a fun and engaging painting class at Villa Borghese with a master painter.  Then we went underground to the Roman Catacombs, which were fascinating.  We had an excellent guide who took us through the Basilica of Saint Paul.  We ended the day with a four course dinner while opera singers sang popular songs.  It was a great day!

October 11:
The Italy trip has been so great! We spent our last day touring the Vatican, the Sistine Chapel, and St Peter’s Basilica. We enjoyed some free time in the afternoon, eating our last gelato and buying our last souvenirs. Our final dinner was bittersweet as we had to say goodbye to Rome and our amazing tour director, Simona.
