This weekly commitment is:
*Lead Volunteer (10 AM - 12:30 PM)
*Crew Volunteer (11 AM - 12:30 PM)
Volunteers are reimbursed for their time with lunch credits for your student.
Without generous volunteers the hot lunch program could not work and the students will have LONGER wait times in the lunch lines and limited time to eat.
If you are interested please email [email protected] for more information and details. No experience necessary.
CAMPUS CHECK-IN PROCEDURES
Horizon Honors Schools uses the Raptor Visitor Management System to strengthen campus safety for our entire community. Part of keeping our community safe is knowing who is in our buildings at all times, and the Raptor system allows us to do that. The Raptor system also allows us to screen visitors in our schools and provide us with a safer environment for our students and staff.
For all visitors to campus during school hours:
  • Upon entering a Horizon Honors School Office, a visitor will need to present a driver’s license or other U.S. government-issued ID. Please plan to ALWAYS have your driver's license/ U.S. government-issued ID with you when you visit campus.
  • The Raptor system will check to ensure that registered sexual offenders are not entering our school campuses without our knowledge. The Raptor system checks the visitor's name and date of birth for comparison with a national database of registered sex offenders. The registered sex offender database is the only official database checked by the Raptor system. No other data from the ID is gathered or recorded and the information is not shared with any outside agency.
  • Once entry is approved, Raptor will issue a badge that identifies the visitor, the date, and the purpose of his/her visit. A visitor’s badge will not be necessary for those who visit our schools simply to drop off an item in the office or conduct front office business.
  • The next time a visitor comes to campus that has already been processed in the Raptor system, he/she may use the self-serve kiosk to sign in with a driver's license/ U.S. government-issued ID and print a visitor badge.
  • All visitors who leave campus prior to 3:45 p.m. must return to an office and check out via the self-serve kiosk.
Please bring a state or U.S. government-issued ID with you every time you visit campus during school hours.
Thank you for your cooperation.
MEET OFFICER MARTIN!
Officer Martin serves as our liaison to the Phoenix Police Department as well as a law enforcement ambassador for our community members. Officer Martin is assigned to our campus as part of the School Safety Grant Program from the Arizona Department of Education.
The roles of a school resource officer include promoting a safe learning environment, fostering relationships with students, and providing resources to school leadership.
Officer Martin is on our campus several days a week during school hours in uniform, with a patrol car parked in our parking lot. Families may see him inside and outside of our buildings before and after school. Students may see him during the school day in the classrooms, during lunch, and at other school-day activities.
